đŸŒŋ I Wasn’t There, But Mojar School Was
Founder’s Reflection | Fruit Festival 2025 (Season 7)

This time, I wasn’t present at Mojar School’s Fruit Festival.
In 13 years, this was the first time I missed a festival.

On 20th June, Friday morning, I went to the office as usual. It was volunteer orientation day. I entered at 7:43 AM, conducted a one-hour session—everything was going fine. But after noon, I started feeling feverish, my eyes and head burning. I returned home thinking some rest would get me ready for the 21st. But I never made it.
The whole day passed in bed, and by the time the fever settled, it was already the evening of 21st June.

In other words, I wasn’t there.

One of the dearest events of my life, and I saw nothing with my own eyes—only updates on my phone, videos, reports, glowing faces... my heart felt heavy.

But let me say this, very clearly—even though I wasn’t there, Mojar School was.
It stood on its own feet.

There was a time I used to think—nothing would happen without me.
Now I know—when a team runs on system, even if one person is absent, nothing stops.

On six well-known spots across Dhaka, five kinds of fruits were shared. The festival happened, joy was spread, and not a single accident occurred. That, to me, is the biggest achievement.

For years, I’ve been putting time, energy, and patience into building a team.
Building a team is not just a figure of speech.
It takes identifying the right people—those who are eager to learn, who want to contribute, who share a common goal. Without these elements, it becomes a crowd, not a team.
More people don’t mean a stronger team.
A real team is made of people with shared values, relevant skills, and mutual respect.

Many people say, “Mojar School has grown big.”
I say, we haven’t grown big—we’ve become more organized.
We’re now more mature, more planned, and we’ve built a stronger team than ever before.

One thing is always clear to me—it’s not about individuals, it’s about systems.
If a person leaves, the achievements shouldn’t disappear.
That’s why, if I have 10 taka, I want to spend 6 on systems and 4 on building capable people. That’s how an organization survives and spreads impact.

Once, a mentor told me—if you have to run to every program yourself, that organization isn’t sustainable.

Today, I understand that more deeply.
We’ve slowly reached a point where even if I’m not physically present, programs move forward smoothly. That’s the progress we’ve made.

I wasn’t there at this festival,
But the festival didn’t stop.

And that’s the greatest joy of all.
