Enrolling 3,00,000 Underprivileged Children Across the Country Through 16 UTSMS Points: Finding Root Causes to Reduce Street Children and Making the Vision Visible for a Street Children-Free Bangladesh – It’s Not Expansion
This write-up is for those who are interested in understanding what’s next.
We have primarily decided to extend our support to all underprivileged children across the country. Based on our plan for this phase, we are mentally prepared to establish a UTSMS Point in each division. This is not an expansion; rather, we see these as Root Cause Finding Points. These centers will help us analyze and understand why children leave their homes and end up on the streets. This initiative will not only guide our future actions but also assist policymakers and concerned stakeholders in developing sustainable solutions.
This write-up helps people understand our next move.
Since 2013, Mojar School has been deeply committed to transforming the lives of underprivileged children in Bangladesh. With our current reach of 2,300 regular students and a growing volunteer base, we have continuously focused on providing free education, meals, and holistic development. Now, as we establish 16 new Under The Sky Mojar School (UTSMS) points across all divisions, our objective goes beyond expansion. We are not merely opening new branches—we are strategically identifying and addressing the root causes of why children end up on the streets of Dhaka.
Each UTSMS point will function as a Root Cause Finding Center, gathering data on child migration, economic distress, family breakdowns, and systemic issues that force children into street life. By engaging 160-200 dedicated youth monthly—impacting over 1,500 annually—we aim to build a strong, informed network that will work on reducing child homelessness at its source. Instead of only providing temporary relief, our approach focuses on a sustainable solution that helps prevent children from ending up in vulnerable situations in the first place.
The significance of this initiative lies in creating structured interventions in each division. Through continuous engagement with policymakers, social organizations, and government bodies, we will push for policies that address street children's needs and offer them better alternatives. The collected data will not only strengthen our model but will also serve as a foundation for larger advocacy efforts. By understanding where these children come from and why, we can develop targeted programs, vocational training, and community-based interventions that offer long-term solutions.
Mojar School’s vision is not just to serve children in need but to create a Bangladesh where street children no longer exist. Our model is driven by impact rather than numbers, by solutions rather than services. Through this initiative, we aim to inspire a nationwide movement where communities, youth, and policymakers collaborate to end child homelessness at its roots. This will ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to education, a safe environment, and the opportunity to build a better future.
This is not just an expansion; it is a commitment to lasting change. By shifting our focus from temporary aid to sustainable impact, Mojar School is setting the foundation for a Bangladesh where no child has to survive on the streets. With strategic partnerships, dedicated youth engagement, and data-driven interventions, we are making our vision of a street children-free Bangladesh a tangible reality.
