Arian Arif - Young Hamanirtian of The Year 2023 By The Daily Star : A Journey of Gratitude: Reflecting on the Path to Impact

As the Mojar School closed to it's 11 years of glorious journey, a bunch of emotions overwhelmed me. It's been an honor to be nominated as the Young Humanitarian of the Year 2023 by The Daily Star & CSR Window. The event at Le Meridian, Dhaka, graced by the presence of esteemed personalities like Legendary Business Icon in Bangladesh Mr. Manjur Elahi, Editor of The Daily Star Mahfuz Anam, and Chief Business Officer fo The Daily Star Mr. Tajdin Ahmed, marked not just an award ceremony but a celebration of unwavering dedication to humanity and development. With merely 38 days left to complete 11 years in pursuit of a vision to make Bangladesh free of street children—the realization dawns upon me that these 11 years have been an eternity in experiences, challenges, and growth. Every achievement, every milestone at Mojar School, bears the fingerprints of countless individuals, volunteers, colleagues, donors, and those extraordinary souls who've extended their love, guidance, and unwavering support. To each one of you, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your belief in our cause has been the bedrock of our endeavors. Yesterday's recognition holds a special place in my heart among the numerous prestigious awards Mojar School has received. It's not merely an acknowledgment but a validation of the collective efforts poured into creating a better future for the street children of Bangladesh. The memory remains vivid on September 2015 a tumultuous time where I, alongside three fellow warriors, faced 34 days of incarceration, including three days of police remand. It was a dark period, yet the unwavering support from the people of Bangladesh and all those who stood beside us during those hard days remains etched in my soul. Your solidarity was a beacon of hope amidst the despair. Reflecting on Mojar School's growth from its simple beginnings on January 10, 2013, with only 13 children now nurturing 2,300 children with a dedicated team of over 100 employees and an army of 7500+ volunteers across 20 branches, fills me with immense pride. And yesterday (02.12.23), it was another source of pride for Mojar School to be honored with the Bangladesh Sustainability Excellence Award 2023 (3rd session) for our sustainable and socially impactful initiatives, presented by The Daily Star and CSR Window Bangladesh. I want to express my deep gratitude to the Bangladeshi people, the volunteers, and everyone who has been a part of this journey. Your unwavering support has been propelling us forward. As founder of Mojar School, I (Arian Arif) stand here today with a heart brimming with gratitude, humbled by the recognition, and fueled by a renewed passion to continue striving for "Street Child Free Bangladesh."
