13 lessons from the shark, Ashneer Grover
1. Subscribers and followers are earned, not bought. If you adopt someone to follow with money, they will make no delay in following other people who have more money. This is absolutely a no-money game. People’s love and recognition are non-binary and need to be earned.
2. Don’t jump into building a startup just because it’s a fashion. Because fashion will expire. and becoming a founder will take a lot more than following a fashion—you must go through a lot of difficulties. Do it only if you (a). If you feel there is a demand in, the markets (b). You are approaching the problem in a way that nobody does. and (c). You are passionate enough to have the endurance capacity to bear failure for at least two years.
3. Writing "founder" before your name has no meaning. Everyone is the founder of their own dream.
4. Half the time, we think we know everything. To find the right co-founder, you must know what you don't know and then find someone who has complementary skills.
5. Nicety is overvalued in our society. Speaking logically may make a person feel good in the short term, but it will harm them overall. Be noticeably clear about what Nicety will get you and your counterpart.
6. Don’t be disheartened if you can't raise money. If you can get your business rolling and become profitable, one day you will thank yourself that you didn’t raise money earlier.
7. Growth with profitability > Profitability with low growth > Growth with low profitability.
8. If you can do your brand building right, half of your job of making sure that your customer tries your product is done.
9. The "jid," or strong determination and hunger within a founder, is most profitable when looking for the right one to invest in.
10. If you work in the corporate world, work long enough to make yourself financially comfortable. The moment you feel you are financially comfortable, and you are not learning incrementally, step out and do something on your own.
11. Brands get built when you believe in something.
12. If you decide to be a public speaker, you must go through thick and thin: you can’t say, "I will be a public speaker only when people love me."
13. 6 types of people to stay away from Prost**ute, Pim*s, Lawyers, Journalist, Bankers, and Drug dealers.
